Pond Fountain Repair
Almost every year we are asked, “When are you going to repair the fountain in the front pond of the neighborhood?”
We wanted to take just a moment to address the question and explain the thought process behind it.
We have spoken to a few different pond companies over the years and asked about the benefits of having the fountain running, and what the cost for repair might be. Here is the general consensus.
The fountain is purely aesthetic. It does not provide any value to the pond itself. We asked specifically about bugs and algae blooms and the fountain is not responsible for preventing either.
The fountain is so old that it cannot be repaired, but rather, must be replaced. Current estimates put the replacement of the fountain at well over $10,000
Due to the fountain not being necessary to have a healthy pond, we have pushed it’s repair / replacement down the list of priorities. Once we are in a financial situation where we have an extra $10,000 dollars to spend on something that is not a requirement, we will get it repaired.
We know that many love it, ourselves included, but for now it is simply not a high enough priority.
